My self

My name is Busola, as you can decode from the blog title, second child of the family. A graduate of the gratest University we have in Nigeria, offcourse I'm talking about the University of Lagos. (Eko fo show). I don't mind me I fell inlove with the University that both first and second Degree were at the University. You want to know what I read? HISTORY. Did I hear you say na wa o, well that is the way God designed it and I obeyed. Though I already had my stinct with journalism with a Diploma in Journalism to prove my interest in the noble profession of the fourth estate of the realm.

But the interest to see that development especially as it concerns women and the balance human rights between men and women drove me to a development organisation

Gender Digital Divide in Afria
Gender is a critical issue that comes up everytime an important issue is being discussed. It should be noted that the gender gaps in our society has affected vartuality all the spheres of our lives and that is why when the issue of technology especially the internet came in women were not given the clue, some masculined in such that it was left for the men until women decided to also take it by force. It's getting better now anyway.

Why this silly blogspot warning before entering your site: "Content Warning: Some readers may find the content of this blog objectionable. In general, Google does not review nor do we endorse the content of this or any blog. For more information about our content policies, please visit the Blogger Terms of Service." This seems rather silly of them (blogspot)

Currently the Federal Government of Nigeria is trying to review the Electoral Act, which is the document the guide electoral activities in Nigeria. There is a committee which has two women as members. They have been to about two states now and they are presently in Oyo State South-West, Nigeria.
So many issues are being raised by political parties and Civil Society Organisations. My organisation, Gender And Development Action (GADA) is a women based organisation which means we are concerned about the gender issues in the electoral act, especially as it has to do with representation in governance. We are advocating for more opportunities for women in governance which can be achieved through finance whereby women are given financial support to be able to participate in politics.
There more issues and this is what this discussion is all about. Pls join me in looking at gender issues in the Nigerian Electoral Act.
